RC: First Car

Axe is here! Woo-hoo! Today he is going to talk to you about getting your first remote control car! Disclaimer: We are not experts and there are many types to choose from, and different parts you can get. These are just different suggestions and we are just speaking from our own experience so you will still have to do more research, as some RCs are very expensive with on-going care. Without further ado, Axe!

So when your buying your first RC you need to know what type there are:  Rock crawler, trial truck, a racer or a drift car. If you want a fast crawler, I recommend the AXIAL Deadbolt 650$, but if you want some thing like a trail truck think about the veterra acender 570$. If you want a drift car, HPI 1/10 sprint 2 sport 1969 mustang and if you want a proper rock crawler veterra 1972 ford bronco 4 X4 ascender. if you just want a racer to muck around with you might get a HPI savage flux 380$ .

What I Chose : AXIAL Deadbolt

I chose the deadbolt because it is a great crawler while being fast. It’s fun to drive on and off road. The deadbolt is very strong surviving rolling ,crashing and bouncing.

Things To Do: On Long Car Trips!

Hi Guys!

I’m starting a new section of The Latest Buzz- Things To Do!

Things To Do posts will give you stuff to do in certain situations. This post is about things to do on long car trips because in the holidays, my family went to Port Stephens, which is a 5 hour drive from where I live! We had a lot of time in the car together, so here is some fun things to do to get you through the trip!

1. Bring devices

Now, some people may not be able to bring devices like iPads, Tablets or Phones, but for those who do, I have found my iPad the most effective thing to keep me busy. Some tips for electronic devices;

  • Charge it over night, so it is full and ready for the morning ahead. Bring chargers for the car as well, because the last thing you need is a flat iPad and 2 hours left.
  • Download heaps of apps beforehand, so you have plenty of new games to try on the way and back. I have a few suggestions of games, but you might not be able to play them, depending on whether you have WiFi or not. For games that need Internet, I recommend Clash of Clans. Almost my whole family clashes, and it is heaps of fun! Another game is Createrria. You get to design your own mini games and learn coding skills. Some games that don’t need Internet are Croossy Road and Shooty Skies. They are made by the same company. In both games, you have to complete a different mini game, and collect cute little characters🐣. What’s your favourite game? Comment down below😄.
Shooty Skies. My favourite character-the unicorn😅😋
  • My last tip is bring headphones. If you want to listen to music, I’m sure as anything your parents do not want 3 different songs playing at full blast.

Play games with your family.

Playing games are great, as long as they don’t get out of hand with yelling, and arguing about the score. Some games my family enjoy are;

  • Spoto. This game is simple. Whenever you see a yellow car, the first one to say spoto! gains a point.
  • I Spy. This is another classic. One person chooses a object, while the rest of the family asks yes or no questions to figure out what the object is.
  • Floppy pancakes. Now everybody has a different name for this one, but it is basically where when you turn the corner, (say we turn right) you “flop” the other way (you would lean to the left). With this game you just have to be careful no one gets hurt, and you don’t distract the driver. We don’t want accidents! 😱

Bring books, colouring in books and pencils.

Some people get sick when they read in the car, but another alternative to iPads are books! Bring your favourite book, or/and a hard cover colouring in book. Bring pencils to colour in with, but if you bring textas, be careful not to draw on the car! You could also bring a blank drawing journal.

That’s it! I hope you like my new section.

If you have any suggestions, leave a comment down below!

Pixels- A Movie Review!!!

Hi Guys!

A few days ago, DairyHatr, Soccer Star, and I went to see Pixels together!

It was awesome, so we are here to share it with you.

What’s all the buzz about?

Pixels is about a guy who is really good at video games, and they send a video of a video games to space, in hope they will find life. Quite a few years later, they are attacked, from the outside life, because they thought the video was a challenge to war. It is up to him and some friends to save the world.

Any cons?

There is a bit of swearing, and references to adult themes, but the movie itself is HILARIOUS!

Busy Bee Rating?

I rate it 8.5/10, as it so funny! Here’s what my friends had to say about it;

DairyHatr- “It was filled with energy and lots of excitement. there are twists and turns up and downs that make this movie have everyone on the edge of their seats. I rate it 10/10”

SoccerStar101- “Pixels was a funny movie but is was also very predictable. I would not recommend it 4 kids under the age of 10 or 11 as it has some bad language in it. Other wise it was an alright movie. I rate it 7/10″

That’s it for now!

How to: Choreograph a Dance

Hi Guys!

It is the school holidays here in Australia, so I have had a lot of time on my hands. When friends come over, we always get ‘bored’ so we like to make up dances! DairyHatr came over to my house yesterday, and we choreographed a dance, so I’m going to share the few basic tips to make up a dance.

Step 1

Pick a style. There are many different styles of dance, and picking your style will help you choreograph your dance and pick your music. For our dance today, I’m going to choose Jazz.

Step 2

Pick your song. Now, you don’t have to choose a song, but music helps you to keep a beat and choose moves. Besides, I know my singing voice isn’t crash hot. I chose Lollipop (From “Pitch Perfect 2” Soundtrack) By The Treblemakers.

❤ Pitch Perfect

Step 3

Make up your moves. Look on YouTube and get some ideas from other dancers, but make sure they are appropriate. Listening to your song helps, and trying to memorise the lyrics is good, but you can always Google them. Knowing the lyrics is great for making up the moves, because you can do dance moves that relate to them. Example: In Lollipop it starts off with “Hey, Trebles!” so I’m going to make a calling over motion while doing small hips. Make sure you have your starting pose and an ending pose.

Strike a pose!

That’s it!

Put it all together and BOOM! You have created a dance! You can film it, share it with friends, post it on YouTube or enter a talent contest, but really, this is totally optional.

Have fun!

Hunger Games- A book review

Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been on lately, I have been busy (basically school, dance and more schoolwork).

So just an Update.

While I was away, I turned twelve (YAY)! For my birthday I got the Hunger Games trilogy. I also went paintballing and rock climbing. I finished the Hunger Games a few days ago, so I decided to share it with you.

Whats all the buzz about?

The Hunger Games is about a place called Panem. In Panem there is the Capitol and 12 districts. In District 12 there lives a girl called Katniss. This story is about about how she tries to protect her family and those she loves. Katniss volunteers as a tribute in the hunger games, a “game” where two kids From each district between 12-18 fight to the death in an arena. There is one survivor.

Any cons?

It has a lot of violence, but it is a grabbing story full of love and death.

Busy Bee rating?

8.5/10

Thats basically it! I would recommend this book for anyone aged 12+.

St Valentine Bibliography

Hi there!

I am making my Confirmation (Catholic) soon, and with making this sacrament we have to choose a saint name. We have to choose a saint that we admire, and at school, write a bibliography about our chosen saint. I chose St Valentine, and this is his bibliography.

St Valentine

St Valentine was born in Italy, Terni, at an unknown date. He lived in Rome during the third century, at the time when Claudius Gothicus ruled as Emperor.

Claudius was not well liked, as he wanted a big army, and men didn’t want to leave their wives and children, so Claudius decided that there was going to be no more marriages (as if that was going to fix it)! A lot of people didn’t agree with this law, including Valentine. So, being a priest, he decided to perform marriage ceremonies, risking being put in jail! It was normally Valentine and the soon-to-be married couple in a dark room lit by candlelight, whispering the words of the ceremony, nervously waiting for the footsteps of soldiers.

One night, they did hear footsteps! The married couple got away in time, but Valentine didn’t. He was sentenced to death and thrown in jail. Valentine stayed cheerful, and amazing things happened. Many young people visited and threw flowers and notes up to his window, to show Valentine they still believed in love.

One of these people was the guards daughter. He allowed her to visit Valentine in his cell. They would talk for hours, and kept his spirits up, because, she agreed that he had done the right thing by ignoring the Emporer and going ahead with the secret marriages.

On the day Valentine was to be be-headed, he wrote her a note, signing it ‘From your Valentine’. It is believed this is how the exchanging of love letters began on St Valentine Day. Valentine died on the 14th of February, 269 A.D. in Rome.

I chose St Valentine because he is remembered for breaking laws and fighting all in the name of love, and love is such a sacred and amazing thing! Love is powerful, and St Valentine believed in it and more people need to believe in it today.

st valentine

There you have it! St Valentine, an amazing man in history.
